THE
SCREWTOP SOMMELIERS
‘Uncorked’
6 Tracks
Acoustic rural blues and Americana music done by three masters of their sound:
Ned Bolle on guitar and vocals, Toby Soriero on 6 and 12 string guitars and
Joey Pafumi playing percussion. Joey is on loan from the always on the road
Paul Nelson Band.
The instrumental; self-written ‘Bogged Down’ features great mid-song slide riffs by Ned. ‘Mercury Blues’ is a more up-tempo rollicking rocker featuring his great finger picking and growling voice. Something you might hear in a coffeehouse in Memphis. Rustic and rural at its best. I really dig Ned’s composition ‘Got No Spoons;’ a really, really good acoustic blues rocker. ‘Through the Notch’ is another captivating rural Americana instrumental blues ballad featuring Bolle’s creative chops. And he closes this cd with two cuts from his electric ‘Mean Old Fireman’ album: an unplugged version of ‘Mean Old Fireman’ and his slide guitar genuflecting in ‘Amazing Grace/Gulf Of Slides.’ Recorded at The Bridge Sound and Stage (Formerly Ft. Apache Studios) in Cambridge, MA and produced and engineered by Ned, Toby and Alex Allinson, I really dig this release and so will you!
